A special feature of Certifior is that in addition to more traditional question formats, it also supports online administration of Situational Judgment Tests. These tests present the candidate with a series of work scenarios typical of the target job, including a number of possible actions for each scenario. The candidate must choose the most effective response to each situation. These applications can be used with or without embedded development support. The effectiveness of each response is validated by statistical analysis and/or a panel of subject matter experts prior to test implementation.

As part of Certifior, we offer consulting and assessment services such as test design, test development, test validation and online test administration. Certification test design involves an analysis of the content of a job and designing assessment tools to measure the most relevant knowledge and skill areas. Certification tests are developed based on review of written technical materials and interviews or surveys with subject matter experts. Certification test items are written according to pre-defined specifications. For performance assessment, detailed methods for observation and evaluation of job behaviors and work outcomes are developed. Various approaches to test validation exist, but typically they involve analysis of the statistical relationship between test scores and job performance measures. Ratings by subject matter experts are also used in some cases. A validation study is performed to determine the efficacy of a testing system and to provide legally defensible evidence that the certification tests are appropriate for their use.
